Grand Strand Bicycle Rides Meet at the Grand Strand Bicycle Shop in Murrells Inlet at 11824 Hwy 17 Bypass for a group bicycle ride. Slower & intermediate riders can meet at the shop at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1 1/2 hour ride. Fast riders can meet at the shop at 7:30 am on Saturdays for a 30-mile 2-hour fast ride. Murrells Inlet 5K Race for the Inlet Results Check the results and winners of the chip timings for the 5K Race for the Inlet. Click Race Results (573kb) to view all timed results. 12th Annual Blessing of the Inlet at Belin Methodist Church A favorite day for all Inlet locals. Coastal kayaking at Huntington Beach State Park Experience the Murrells Inlet marsh upfront and personal. Join in this kayaking fun on a two hour guided tour of the salt marsh. Excellent for beginners, participants need to reserve a spot at the Education Center (235-8755) by 4:00pm on Sunday prior to program. Designed for ages 9 and up, under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring drinking water, sunscreen, and lace up shoes that can get wet and muddy. Fee $30/per person. National Trails Day Murrells Inlet Bike Bridge Dedication Celebrate the opening of the new Murrells Inlet Bike Bridge by joining in a dedication bike ride, ribbon cutting and cookout. Meet at Morse Park Landing at 10 am. The dedication ride leaves Morse Park at 10:20 am to celebrate the official ribbon cutting at the bridge at 10:30 am. Riders disperse to enjoy their cycling pleasures and are invited back to Morse Park Landing 11:30 am - 1:00 pm for a hot dog cookout (while supplies last). International Beach & River Sweep Beach Sweep/River Sweep—organized by S.C. Sea Grant Consortium in partnership with S.C. Department of Natural Resources—is the largest one-day litter cleanup of South Carolina’s beaches and waterways. Last year, nearly 3,000 South Carolinians from the mountains, through the midlands, to the coast collected over 11 tons of trash from our waterways. 9th Annual Lip-Rippin’ Chililympics Chili Cook-Off at Spud’s Waterfront The event has earned its reputation as a "must do." Halloween on the Marshwalk for the Adults & the Kids Bring the kids to the marshwalk (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm) for trick-or-treating fun and a costume contest. Lost at Sea Memorial Names Submission Due Date Families and friends of loved ones who have been lost at sea are invited to submit names for inscription on the monument. MI2007 Annual Golf & Tennis Benefit This annual event is always a sell-out, so reserve your space early. Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association Murrells Inlet Flounder Fishing Tournament Now in its 8th year, the tournament, sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Herald and West Marine, is a must-do for the flounder fishering enthusiast. Prizes awarded in the adult division, youth division and lady angler division.
