Lost at Sea Memorial Names Submission Due Date
Families and friends of loved ones who have been lost at sea are invited to submit names for inscription on the monument. The Lost at Sea Memorial ceremony is scheduled for April 4 at 2:00 pm. Names must be submitted by the 2010 deadline to be included in this years ceremony. Inaugural "MarshWalk Masters"
Put on your knickers and putt yourself through the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk stopping at every Restaurant along the way. Play the hole at each of the nine stops on tour and lowest score wins! 4:00-8:00 pm. No rush, no problem, just play each of the 9 holes in any order you want enjoying beverages and appetizers as you go. An after party and awards ceremony at Spuds Waterfront with live music starting at 8:30. Proceeds go towards our non-profit Murrells Inlet 2020 community organization.
Save money by PRE-REGISTERING to hold your tour spot now. Pre-registration is $15 and guarantees your event T-Shirt and Score card! Pre-registration for $15 ends March 22nd. Day of event registration is $20. Packet pick-up for pre-registration and event registration will begin at 3:00 PM at the Murrells Inlet 2020 office Saturday April 10th.

19th Annual Spring Tide Clean-Up
Its a banner day for the Inlet. Bring your gloves, boots and boats to come help clean up the Inlet waters and roadsides. No need to sign up to volunteer. Just check-in at Morse Park Landing between 8-9 am.

South Carolinas biggest and longest-running one-day community cleanup, the Spring Tide effort, over the years, has rid the Inlet saltmarsh and roadsides of literally hundreds of tons of trash and debris while bringing the community closer together in appreciation and care of the local environmentand organizers are hoping for a record turnout this year.
Volunteers are needed to provide and crew watercraft, pick up along the streets, unload boats and trucks, help out at the headquarters, provide and drive pickup trucks.
Spring Tide begins at 8:30 a.m., with a brief dedication ceremony by the creekside overlook at Morse Landing Park on Business 17 South. The cleanup work begins immediately thereafter. Morse Landing will be the main trash-deposition site, with additional containers located by the boat-ramps at Marina Colony and Cedar Hill Landing, and beside Sara Js restaurant in Garden City.
The cleanup proceeds from 9 a.m. until noon, when volunteers reconvene at the Hot Fish Clubs Gazebo for the Great Murrells Inlet Chowder Cook-Off, an informal competition among Inlet and Garden City restaurants that brings the winner the Best Damn Chowder award, and feeds the cleanup participants. The afternoon is devoted to appreciation for the workers and a celebration of a clean creek.

28th Annual July 4th Boat Parade at high tide
Theres nothing more patriotic than seeing a line of decorated boats cruising down the creek for the Murrells Inlet Fourth of July parade. The years theme is Freedom is Fine in 2009. Boat decoration contest entry forms will be available at Garden City Realty, Dunes Realty, Captain Dicks Marina or Bootys. Entry costs $5. You only need to enter if you want to be judged in the decoration contest. Anyone is welcome to join in the parade at no charge. Spectators can line the Marshwalk area for the best view of the parade. Come early for a great viewing spot and stick around to have dinner at any of the fine Inlet restaurants after the parade. Coastal kayaking at Huntington Beach State Park

Halloween on the Marshwalk for the Adults & the Kids

Immediately following the parade, meet at Morse Landing Park for the tree lighting ceremony and watch as snow is expected to fall! Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with the children at the park. The Christmas tree will be lit and the Eagle Scouts will man a bonfire to take the nip out of the air. Choirs will entertain the crowd at the park.
