8th Annual Makai Luau
The 8th Annual Makai Luau, a Grand Strand tradition, will be held at the Hot Fish Club located in beautiful Murrells Inlet, SC. The ticket only benefit begins at 6 p.m. on the lawn of the Hot Fish Club and will feature live music, a fire and hula show from Chief Kamu, a traditional luau buffet, beer and wine beverages, as well as the wildly popular Surfers Punch. There will be prizes for the Ugliest Hawaiian Shirt contest, a Best Lei contest, and more. All proceeds from this event fund the projects of the Grand Strand Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, a grassroots, non-profit, environmental organization that works to protect our oceans, waves, and beaches. Tickets prices will be forthcoming per couple and will be on sale at area surf shops, through a local Surfrider member, or by visiting Surfrider's website www.surfridergrandstrand.org. Murrells Inlet 2020 15th Annual Golf Tournament
Blackmoor Golf Club in Murrells Inlet presents the 15th Annual Murrells Inlet 2020 Golf Tournament sponsored by Roper St. Francis Physician Partners on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Prompt shotgun start at 1:00 pm. Prizes awarded for top three winning teams, hole-in-ones, longest putt, longest drive and more. Registration is $110 per person or $400 per foursome. Murrells Inlet 4th of July Boat Parade & Fireworks Display
Don't miss this annual Inlet patriotic tradition! The 30th Annual July 4th Boat Parade kicks off at 5pm from Garden City Point. The parade theme is "Palmetto Pride - Inlet Tide." The parade will head over to the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk and then follow the Murrells Inlet shoreline down to the Hot Fish Club. Best public viewing points are the Marshwalk, Belin Methodist Church, Nance's Restaurant, Captain Poo's Restaurant and the Hot Fish Club. To register to be in the boat parade, go to Booty's Outdoors, Garden City Reality, or Captain Dick's June 15th through July 3rd. You can register on July 4th with the committee boat which will be in the water at the Garden City Point at 8am that day. The Belin United Methodist Boy Scout Troop 396 will be selling the annual Boat Parade t-shirts at Booty's Outdoors and Garden City Realty in Murrells Inlet. Call 652-4236 for more details.
The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk restaurants will light up the skies on the 4th of July with a spectacular fireworks display. The show, which is shot off from the end of the Veterans Pier, is scheduled to start at 10:00 pm. Spectators can view the display from the many vantage points off the marsh shoreline, including the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, Belin Methodist Church, Morse Park Landing next to the Hot Fish Club and the Marlin Quay Marina area. Fall Haul - Murrells Inlet Creek & River Sweep Clean-Up
In conjunction with the SC DNR Annual Beach & River Sweep, Murrells Inlet 2020 is teaming up with local partners to host a Creek & River Sweep in Murrells Inlet. River rats head to the river. Creek rats head to the marsh. Let's show up, let's clean up and let's enjoy our backyard with less litter.
Down by the River, Murrells Inlet 2020, the Waccamaw Riverkeeper, Hannah Banana's Sunshine Cabana and Wacca Wache Marina are proudly partnering together for the Riverkeeper's Adopt-A-Landing program to host the 2nd Annual Fall Community Clean-Up of the Wacca Wache Boat Landing on the Waccamaw River in Murrells Inlet. Meet at Hannah Banana's (back door) at 8:45 am.
Along the marshfront, Murrells Inlet 2020, Captain Dick's Marina, Crazy Sister Marina, and Express Watersports are proudly partnering together to weep the creek. Meet at the docks at Crazy Sister Marina at 8:45 am. Kayaks will be available for volunteers to use.
Dress appropriately. Bring your gloves, boots and bug spray. Trash bags will be provided. Call 843-357-2007 for more information.

14th Annual Surfrider Lip-Rippin' Chilympics Chili Cook-off
The 14th Annual Lip-Rippin’ Chilympics Chili Cook-Off will be held on Sunday, October 13th, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Wicked Tuna Restaurant parking lot Murrells Inlet. This annual chili competition will feature categories such as Best Overall, Best Restaurant, People’s Choice, Most Original, Best Vegetarian, Best Theme, Best Use of South Carolina Ingredients, and Hottest Chili. Cash prizes go to first and second place winners in each category. Chili samples, beverages and other items will be priced separately. Admission is free and this event is open to the public. There will be a fabulous line-up of live bands. There will also be a Kids' Area with food, soft drinks, face painting and inflatables. All proceeds from the Lip-Rippin’ Chilympics Chili Cook-Off will be used for projects of the Grand Strand Surfrider Foundation, an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit serving the Grand Strand. 10th Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast
The Annual Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast, sponsored by HTC, is a creek-front tradition, and is a favorite for locals and visitors. It's held in the parking lot at the Wicked Tuna Restaurant in Murrells Inlet. Oyster-eaters belly up to the tables for an all-you-can-eat afternoon feast of steamed oysters. And you can bet...you will get your belly-fully of oysters that afternoon. Oysters will be served 11:30 pm - 2:30 pm. A menu of other food items (burgers, dogs, chowder, wings and more), beer and soda are separately priced. Free admission to the event. Guaranteed a "good eats" and fun afternoon for all. Event is rain or shine. Bring an oyster knife or buy one at the roast. All-you-can-eat oyster roast tickets cost $30, if purchased in advance or $35 at the door for $35 on Saturday -- while supplies last. Proceeds benefit MI2020. Watch this space for more details.

Annual Christmas Parade - Boats & Floats for the Kids
Get in the holiday spirit with the Annual Community Christmas Parade beginning at 3:00 pm! Come and enjoy the fun as the Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade starts at Wilcox Avenue (Booty's) and marches down Business 17. Find yourself a comfy spot along the parade route and enjoy the line-up of marching bands, beauty queens, dogs, cycles, and lots and lots of goodies for the kids! The parade ends at Pendergass Avenue. Don't miss out.
We invite friends & neighbors, businesses and clubs to join in the parade. Our number one rule is to make your entry fun for the kids! This one is all about the children. Decorate, decorate, decorate! Hand out candy! Dress up! Play or sing music! A panel of children judges will select the one winning entry....one and only one winner in the eyes of the children!
